I recently installed the program on a new windows 7 laptop so I could record some small I have used CEP 2.1 for years and years, still recording on an XP machine, which is absolutely fine by me, but it is a desktop and hard to move from place to place. Wow, I am late to this and for that I am sorry, but I'll put it out there in case it helps you. My voice only comes out the left speaker when I play stuff I recorded but for some reason the beat plays out both speakers. I have gone from 2.0 to 2.1, I have tried Adobe Audition 3.0 even and all seem to have the same problem. Run the troubleshooting in Windows 7: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Hardware and Sound and tell us the report. Click on the Audio tab, then in the Sound Recording default device and make sure the mic is selected. Do you mean when you record or playing the recorded data? Is it displaying two channels on the panel of Cool edit? Go to the control panel, click on the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.
